For Matt Black, known professionally as Peace To Mateo, ‘Slow Trip Home’ is an exercise in minimalist production. By stripping back the dense, intricate arrangements of his previous effort Some Strange Reason, Peace aims to conjure a more focused sound, and in turn unearth the best elements of each track.

‘Slow Trip Home’ draws influence from various lofi genres, video game soundtracks, and downtempo music, while keeping a distinct voice rooted in boom-bap era hip-hop.
